2017 Board of Directors Candidates

We are pleased to submit for your consideration the eligible candidates for the 2017-2020 term for CFTA Director.  The four (4) candidates have been nominated by the CFTA community and approved by the CFTA Nominations Process Task Force.  

Two (2) Director seats are up for election for the 2017-2020 term.  The CFTA members running for these seats are all outstanding individuals who bring unique and diverse capabilities to CFTA Leadership.  Mr. Ray Garrett is an existing CFTA Director running for a second term.

An election will occur during the 2017 Conference lunch session on Wednesday, August 2nd.  All voting members will be provided a ballot card during conference registration and will have the opportunity to vote during the election.  The election results will be announced during the All Member Meeting on Thursday, August 3rd.

Meet the Candidates

Amy Zabel Pietz | Architect/Engineer Supervisor
University of Wisconsin - Madison, Facility Planning & Management
Amy is the Architect/Engineer Supervisor for Campus Renovation Services, the remodeling group, within Facilities Planning and Management at University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She has 22 years of experience in the field of Architecture and obtained her Architect's license in 2008.  Her professional experience encompasses both private sector and University environments.  Since coming to the University of Wisconsin, she has led the conversion from AutoCAD to Revit as a design tool for the remodeling group, paving the way to implement BIM. CFTA conventions have provided inspiration, knowledge and a road map for this transition.  An opportunity to become directly involved in the future of CFTA and contribute to its mission would be an honor and a privilege.


Ginelle Harbeson | Document Management Specialist
University of New Hampshire, Facilities - Campus Planning
Ginelle joined the Campus Planning Department at UNH in the spring of 2015 to assist in the design, implementation, and administration of the BlueCielo​ Meridian Document Management System. She has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Maryland and a certificate in project management from UNH’s Professional Development Program. Her experiences in architecture, construction administration, document control, and project management combine for a thorough understanding of the built environment and a unique perspective on the dynamic needs of the Facilities Department​.


Jessica Valenti | FIS Manager
University of Massachusetts Lowell, Facilities Management-Planning/FIS
Jessica  has been with the University of Massachusetts Lowell for more than 5 years. Her initial responsibility was building the university GIS and growing campus mapping. As the manager of Facilities Information Systems, Valenti is responsible for the university’s space accounting and space management system, growth and development of the online FIS campus facilities viewer including systems architecture and management. She helped lead the planning, implementation, and rollout of Tririga IWMS, is currently facilitating the implementation of a new project management software solution and transition to improved project close out and facilities archiving solutions. Jessica’s primary function is to lead the growth and implementation of shared facilities information and integration with campus administration including campus operations and services, capital projects, environmental and emergency management, registrar’s office, safety and security, special events, and academic services. Prior to the university Jessica spent three years out of the Esri Boston field office as a member of their technical sales team, and before that with a multi-state private utility provider building their enterprise GIS. Jessica holds a Master’s of Science in Geographic Information Sciences from the University of Denver. 


Ray Garrett | Senior Manager
University of Michigan, Facilities and Operations Information Services
Ray Garrett has been a member of CFTA since 2013.  He has a bachelor’s degree in Material Science Engineering and currently works for The University of Michigan as Senior Manager supporting GIS, BIM and document management for the Facilities and Operations unit.  Having been an independent business owner and VP of a manufacturing facility, Ray has been able to provide experienced leadership with corporation business best practices and requirements that were critical during the 2015 Amendment to the CFTA Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation.  Ray is ending his first term as CFTA Director in and is running so he may continue the work he started to support CFTA’s current growth plans.
