Ellington Innovation Award Policies and Rules

 

A.  Eligibility

  1. To be eligible for an award, projects must have been completed within the past three years.
  2. Project submittals will be eligible from both CFTA campus individual members and business partners in good standing.  Project submittals from CFTA members who partnered with business partners will be accepted.  
  3. CFTA business partners submitting project applications must do so with support from active CFTA campus member
  4. CFTA board members are not eligible to submit project applications.  However, CFTA board member institutions may submit project applications for projects performed by others in their institutions. 
  5. Members of the CFTA Awards Task Force are not eligible to submit an award application during the awards cycle in which they serve on the task force. 

B.  Evaluation Process

  1. Project submittals received will be distributed electronically to the CFTA Awards Task Force and participating CFTA Board of Directors for determination of eligibility, evaluation, and scoring. 
  2. Deliberations of the task force as well as the submitted materials will be treated with confidentiality.  
  3. Evaluation of the project submittals will be based on the responses on the submitted template application.  Each Awards Task Force and participating CFTA Board Member will utilize a standard scoring matrix and determine a score for each criterion.   
  4. Optional and supplemental materials provided will be reviewed by members of the Awards Task Force and used in the scoring of each criterion.  

C.  Timeline

  1. The deadline for project award submittals is June 2, 2021.  Submittals received after this date will not be evaluated.  
  2. The Awards Task Force members will complete their evaluations and scoring by June 30, 2021.
  3. The Ellington Innovation Award will be presented during the annual CFTA conference and the winner, if present, will be permitted to present a short presentation of their project to CFTA members.  
  4. A new Awards Task Force will be formed in January of each year.  If interested in serving on the Awards Task Force, please email [email protected] on or before December 17, 2020.
