2017 Conference Special EventDate: Thursday, August 3, 2017 Time: 6:00 - 9pm Location: Capital Brewery Details (Steve Lacy, University of Wisconsin - Madison) : In Wisconsin, you build a traditional wedding around four things: a ceremony (which we will skip), food, beer, and a polka band. 1) Food – a fish fry or a bratwurst cookout is most traditional. We hear that fish served buffet style to a large group can be dicey, so we opted for the brat cookout with other dishes to cover most guest’s preferences (vegetarian options will be available).
2) Beer – the venue is at the Capital Brewery, which is a very popular craft brewer in Madison. They have a large outdoor drinking, dining, and music area. You will have an option to go on a tour of the brewery as well.
3) Music – The Red Hot Horn Dawgs. Their music is much broader than just polka’s but they will be able to make this event feel like a Wisconsin wedding (hopefully without the brawl).
We hope everyone comes out Thursday evening. It will be a great chance to relax and have many conversations with our CFTA colleagues. Guest tickets available for $50/person. Buy Now! Note: guests must obtain their own transportation to the event Food, Beer, and Music! |
