The Campus FM Technology Association is closely monitoring the status of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Our top concern is to protect the health, well-being and safety of our attendees, presenters, exhibitors and staff. As we monitor developments, we will be taking precautionary measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A message from your CFTA President, Sue Stewart!

Dear CFTA Family,

I hope this email finds you safe and healthy. During the past few months the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has changed our world significantly and nowadays it’s vital to limit social contact and avoid large gatherings. Many of you are now working remotely, classes are held exclusively online, and institutions have established travel restrictions.  For the health and safety of our members and staff CFTA leadership has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s annual in-person CFTA conference.  While we know this is disappointing, we hope you can understand the steps we’re taking to help keep everyone safe and we are looking forward to connecting face-to-face.

Many of you are already seeing financial impact of social distancing at your institutions and CFTA is no different.  Your annual conference registration fees not only pays your membership dues, but also provides the capital needed for association operating expenses and future conference costs. This year we expect zero new revenue and CFTA will be paying cancellation fees to multiple event suppliers and covering credit card processing fees for those of you who have already registered.  We have a strong membership community, but the health and longevity of our association now hangs in the balance and I urge you to pledge your commitment to CFTA by renewing your individual membership before the end of July.

If you have registered for the CFTA 2020 Conference you have the following options for the cost of your registration and our conference coordinator will be reaching out to you soon:

  1. Request a refund of your registration less membership dues.
  2. Request a full refund of your registration.
  3. Donate your registration amount.

However, we are pushing forward, and working hard to connect with you. We understand many of you spend a significant part of your day in online meetings so we will not try to replicate an in-person conference virtually. Our goal is to still bring you all of the value you’re used to through other means until we can meet again. Our business partners have added critical value as we make decisions on virtual connections to bring our community together, but at this point we are unsure of what this would look like.  We want you to share your ideas and feedback to best serve you. Please help us by filling out a 1-minute survey so we can begin planning efforts.

We miss you, and we’re looking forward to a time when we can connect in person again. Thank you again to our amazing business partners who continue to support the CFTA mission.  Please be on the lookout for updated information or follow us on social media. If you have any questions or would like to see any specific resources in the coming months, don’t hesitate to contact us.
