Strategic Goals & Objectives (2026 - 2030)

Over the next four years, CFTA will grow a diverse and influential membership, deliver exceptional professional value, strengthen leadership sustainability, and expand its impact through strategic partnerships.

To achieve this vision, CFTA will focus on four Strategic Goals:


Strategic Goal 1: Grow and Diversify Membership and Influence

Cultivate a growing, diverse, and influential membership that reflects the full spectrum of campus operations and technology professionals, with strong year-over-year retention and increasing institutional relevance.

 Objectives

  • Increase the number of Institutional Memberships
  • Reduce barriers that limit participation across conferences, programs, and year‑round engagement
  • Expand representation across institution types, roles, and geographies
  • Attract members who shape, fund, and implement campus technology strategies
  • Improve member onboarding, retention, and recognition
  • Increase institutional recognition and influence of members

Strategic Goal 2: Be an Essential Source for Professional Growth and Leadership Development

Deliver high‑value opportunities for members and prospective members that support professional growth, leadership development, and operational insight beyond purely technical instruction.

Objectives

  • Expand leadership and non-technical learning tracks
  • Integrate soft skills with technical professional development
  • Increase the impact of knowledge communities and regional events
  • Expand professional development beyond tactical ‘how’ to strategic ‘why’

Strategic Goal 3: Strengthen Member Leadership, Engagement, and Organizational Sustainability and Continuity

Sustain a vibrant volunteer culture and leadership pipeline that ensures continuity, shared ownership, and long-term organizational resilience.

Objectives

  • Establish clear volunteer roles and pathways
  • Provide coordination and support for volunteer leaders
  • Develop and maintain leadership succession planning

Strategic Goal 4: Expand Reach and Impact Through Strategic Partnerships

Amplify reach, credibility, and inclusiveness by collaborating with aligned organizations and partners to advance shared priorities and extend value to members.
